SALIVA LEAVES

Durational performance revolving around a single repetitive action/intervention consisting of using my own saliva as a media and toilet paper rolls as a support to make holes on the surface of the paper, each one of them with the shape of a leaf.

The intervened segments of toilet paper are then hung up one by one across the ceiling to create an organic composition and the illusion of an intricate foliage. They are displayed as an installation piece for people to walk around and experience the "leaves" through the intangible elements of the dried out saliva,  the empty spaces on the surface of the paper, and their shadows on the floor.

EXPOSURE

Durational performance revolving around a single repetitive action, consisting in carving out specific words on carrots, and hanging them up one by one across the ceiling for people to walk around and read them.  The carrots are used here as support for written words, which exemplify notions of reward, aspiration, goal, desire and expectation, specially as they relate to the art world, making reference to the well-known "carrot on a stick" strategy, so predominant nowadays in the manufacturing of artistic culture, and the grooming of talent.
